St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – V.I. Attorney General Gordon C. Rhea delivered a welcome address to 591 attendees at the 2025 Attorney General Alliance (AGA) Annual Meeting, which officially began this week in St. Thomas.
Hosted at The Westin St. Thomas, the AGA Annual Meeting brings together attorneys general, legal experts, and public and private sector leaders from across the nation and around the world for three days of collaborative discussion and learning. The event began with an opening dinner on Monday, June 16, setting the tone for an engaging series of sessions scheduled through June 19.
In his opening remarks, Attorney General Rhea welcomed attendees to the territory and underscored the importance of national collaboration in tackling complex legal and policy challenges. “It is a privilege to host this distinguished gathering here in the Virgin Islands,” said Rhea. “This meeting represents a powerful opportunity for attorneys general and legal professionals to share insights, build partnerships, and address the pressing legal issues of our time.”
The 2025 AGA Annual Meeting will cover a wide range of topics, including cybersecurity, consumer protection, artificial intelligence, environmental law, and cross-border collaboration. The agenda is designed to foster innovation, deepen professional networks, and explore solutions to some of today’s most urgent legal concerns.
About the Attorney General Alliance (AGA)
The AGA is a national and international coalition of attorneys general, public officials, and private sector partners working together to address complex legal and policy issues. Originally founded as the Conference of Western Attorneys General (CWAG), AGA has evolved into a bipartisan nonprofit network representing more than 40 U.S. states and territories.
While CWAG continues its traditional focus on western state legal matters—such as natural resources, tribal law, and public lands—AGA addresses emerging issues like cannabis regulation, cybercrime, and international rule-of-law programming. Through partnerships in Mexico, Africa, and beyond, AGA fosters global cooperation and solutions to transnational challenges.
