U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – V.I. Attorney General Ariel Smith announces that 62-year-old Felipe Felix, a registered sex offender, was arrested on August 15th, 2023, for unauthorized possession of a firearm. This arrest resulted from the efforts of our annual Sex Offender “Keeping Watch” Operation in the St. Croix District. The team responsible for the arrest are members of the V.I. Dept. of Justice (VIDOJ) Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) Unit, V.I. Superior Court Probation Officers, Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) and the U.S. Marshals Service.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – Today, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. joined Attorney General Ariel Smith to announce new legislation and initiatives to prevent human trafficking, and to protect women and girls from abuse. The bill, called the Victims of Human Trafficking Prevention Act, is part of a years-long comprehensive initiative to prevent human trafficking in the U.S. Virgin Islands and around the world.
