Suspect Arrested & Charged with Attempted Murder in Assault of Jogger in Estate La Grange

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands — Virgin Islands Attorney General Gordon C. Rhea confirms that the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) has arrested Cleo A. Taylor, 39, in connection with the violent assault of a female jogger in Estate La Grange on November 28, 2025. The victim, arrived at the Wilbur Francis Command Station bleeding from the head and hands, reporting she had been struck repeatedly with a glass bottle by an unknown female. Surveillance footage, government CCTV, witness accounts, and vehicle evidence led investigators to identify Taylor as the suspect.

Kertis Tonge, Jr. Sentenced To Life Without Parole For Murder Of Quanza Heath After Conviction At Trial

U.S. Virgin Islands – V.I. Attorney General Gordon C. Rhea announced that the Honorable Judge Ernest E. Morris, Jr. sentenced 34-year-old Kertis Tonge, Jr. to a life sentence without parole on November 19, 2025, for the murder of Quanza Heath. This sentence comes after a jury convicted Tonge of Murder in the First Degree, Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Reckless Endangerment, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition on September 10, 2025.
