Media Relations

The media relations director, who also serves as the Agency’s Public Information Officer (PIO), manages the flow of communication between the DOJ and the media. We understand the importance of using the media as a valuable resource to keep the public informed of the Department’s activities and news events impacting residents and visitors to the U.S. Virgin Islands.

• serves as the news media spokesperson for official agency announcements,
• serves as the audio & videographer editor for official agency announcements
• develops and writes messaging for press releases and statements, and other documents of public interest,
• develops and edits informational/ DOJ news videos intended for the public,
• serves as the Agency-wide point of contact for the planning, developing, and reviewing of all Agency print, promotional, display, audiovisual and broadcast products intended for the public,
• manages and updates DOJ’s web and social media sites,
• monitors and tracks media coverage,
• organizes media briefings and press conferences,
• schedules TV/radio appearances for Attorney General
