U.S. Virgin Islands – V.I. Attorney General Gordon C. Rhea AG is pleased to announce that staff from the V.I. Department of Justice will be taking part in the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Trial Techniques and Investigative Skills course, which will be held on St. Croix on March 17 and 18, and on St. Thomas on March 20 and 21.
The National Attorneys General Training and Research Institute (NAGTRI), part of NAAG’s research and training division, has sent its team from Washington, D.C. to the territory. They are conducting a two-day training session tailored for DOJ attorneys, investigators, and litigation support staff. The training features breakout sessions that allow participants to apply and practice the skills being taught. NAGTRI offers impartial training, research, and analysis to empower attorneys general and their staff in effectively serving their constituents. Their mission is to deliver high-quality, non-partisan, and innovative training, research, and developmental resources to support the offices of state and territorial attorneys general. NAAG serves as the nonpartisan national forum for attorneys general from states and territories across America. It fosters a collaborative community for attorneys general and their staff to address important issues related to their work, while also providing training and resources to support them in upholding the rule of law and the United States Constitution.
The first training is taking place at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Great Hall on St. Croix from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
All DOJ facilities remain open, but with limited services.
