(U.S. Virgin Islands)- V.I. Attorney General Denise George announced that Henry Peters who was facing charges for fraud after misrepresenting himself as a licensed contractor and taking a total of over $140,000 to perform hurricane repairs to the homes of five St. Thomas families after the 2017 hurricanes, pleaded guilty to one count of Obtaining Money by False Pretenses.
(U.S. Virgin Islands)- V.I. Attorney General Denise George has announced that 53-year-old Leon Brisson Jr, a registered sex offender, was arrested by V.I. Dept. of Justice (VIDOJ) Special Agents (SID), the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) unit assisted by the US Marshals on September 22, 2022. Brisson was arrested for failure to comply with registration requirements for sex offenders in the Virgin Islands. Brisson was arrested and apprehended at 6:10 am at his place of residence in St. Thomas.
(U.S. Virgin Islands)- V.I. Attorney General Denise George announces that 52-year-old Lissette Algarin-Felix was advised of her rights and arraigned on September 12 on the formal charges of elder fraud filed by the Attorney General. She was extradited from Florida to face criminal charges by V.I. Dept. of Justice (VI DOJ) agents. She, along with co-defendant, Ricardo Algarin, her brother, are accused of financial fraud and exploitation of an elderly man on St. Croix between 2018 & 2019 based on an investigation by the VI Department of Justice investigators. If convicted, she faces up to fifteen years in prison.

Department of Justice (DOJ) special agents.
