Attorney General Denise George Joins Coalition Filing 3rd Complaint In Ongoing Antitrust Price-Fixing Investigation Into Generic Drug Industry

Attorney General Denise George announced that the U.S. Virgin Islands has joined a coalition of 51 states and territories led by Connecticut in filing the third lawsuit stemming from the ongoing antitrust investigation into a widespread conspiracy by generic drug manufacturers to artificially inflate and manipulate prices, reduce competition, and unreasonably restrain trade for generic drugs sold across the United States.

V.I. History as part of Delegation to Ghana for Conference and Heritage Tour

THOMAS, U.S.V.I. – V.I. Attorney General Denise George paid homage to our African heritage while participating in a recent conference aimed at collaboratively tackling transnational crimes, held in Accra, Ghana. The Ghanaian Government, through the Attorney General AllianceAfrica (AGA-Africa), invited AG George and five other state Attorneys General to Ghana, where the historic links of the slave trade across the Atlantic Ocean hundreds of years ago, ties the African country to the Virgin Islands. Among the conference activities, AG George participated in panel discussions, historical heritage tours, and Independence Day Celebrations in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Kingdom.

V.I. Attorney General Opposes Epstein Estate Demand for Broad Release of Parties Involved in Victim Abuse

When the Attorney General of the Virgin Islands filed a civil enforcement action under the Virgin Islands Criminally Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act against the Epstein Estate and six other related companies based in the Virgin Islands in January 2020, the Attorney General’s Office committed to advocate for the women and girls victimized by Epstein in the Virgin Islands while representing the Government’s interest.
