U.S. Virgin Islands – Atty General Denise George announced the Department of Justice’s arrest of a man who misrepresented himself as a licensed contractor to perform work repairs to the homes of five St. Thomas families.
U.S. Virgin Islands – Attorney General Denise George has announced that anyone found submitting false Covid-19 documents or forged test results to the USVI travel screening portal will be prosecuted pursuant to V.I. Code tit. 14, § 843. AG George will also be joining a coalition of attorneys general representing states, districts, and territories, in a sign-on letter to address deceptive online marketing and sales of Fake Covid Vaccine Cards.
(U.S. Virgin Islands)- Atty General Denise George announces that 56-year-old, Melroy L. Matthias of St. Thomas was advised of his rights today. Matthias, a registered sex offender was apprehended by DOJ special agents on May 6 th in Cruz Bay, St. John. He was arrested for failure to comply with registration requirements for sex offenders.
U.S. Virgin Islands – Attorney General Denise George announces the conviction and sentencing of 62-year old Elroy Edwards for charges of 1st Degree Aggravated Rape; Child Abuse; and 1st Degree Unlawful Sexual Contact in V.I. Superior Court, St. Croix District. A Notice of Entry of Judgment and Commitment was entered on November 23, 2020.
