Dept. of Justice (VIDOJ) Special Agents of a man charged with financial exploitation and defrauding an elderly man by taking advantage of the man’s deteriorated condition. VIDOJ Special agents arrested Ricardo Algarin on April 6, 2022, in Miami, Florida on several charges in a 15 Count Information.

U.S. Virgin Islands) – Virgin Islands Attorney General Denise George announced today, a $3M settlement with the Terminix pest control company. The settlement stems from a 2017 lawsuit the Attorney General’s Office filed against Terminix after a family of four vacationing at the Sirenusa Resort on St. John in March 2015 became seriously ill when the unit below them was fumigated.

Attorney General Denise George announces the arrest of Department of Human Services employee, Edith Brathwaite of St. Thomas by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) of the V.I. Dept. of Justice (VIDOJ) for allegedly defrauding the Virgin Islands Medicaid program. The arrest arose from a joint fraud investigation by the MFCU, the V.I. Inspector General’s Office and the federal Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (HHS-OIG).
